It’s not normal to be low on energy 24-7. While we sometimes experience slumps, if you’re feeling tired all the time then your body is trying to tell you something. If sleeping the recommended 8 hours a night isn’t doing the trick, try some of these alternative methods.
Drink Water
While everyone knows that drinking caffeine can boost how alert you are, not many people recognize that it’s usually because of dehydration. When your body is low on water, you will feel fatigue and less alert. According to the Mayo Clinic, men should aim to drink about 3.7 liters of water and women should drink around 2.7 liters. It’s important to stay hydrated!
Take an Allergy Test
Consider taking an allergy test. Your diet could be the culprit when it comes to your sleepiness. If taking a test isn’t included with your healthcare provider, grab a notebook and create a food diary. Start keeping track of what you eat and which days you feel exhausted. There may be connection.
Get Moving
For many of us in the office our tiredness can be directly linked to our sedentary lifestyle. While the last thing you may feel like doing is exercising, it may be just what you need. Simple ways to incorporate exercise into your life include walking while on phone calls, taking periodical breaks to get water or using a sit-stand desk.
