Germs have been a topic on everyone’s minds for the past months, and it’s brought up the question: Am I doing everything I can to clean efficiently? So here are some tips that large organizations use to make sure everything stays sanitized and in tip-top shape and can easily be applied to smaller or home offices.
Color-code your cleaning cloths
A trick that many large corporations use to avoid cross contamination is by color-coding cleaning towels or microfiber cloths. Blue for restrooms. Green for breakrooms. Red for warehouses. This kind of coding decreases the chances of germs spreading.
Don’t just spray
A lot of cleaning items claim to be spray and leave items, but only a few can actually live up to CDC regulations. Unless you are 100% sure that your product lives up to these standards, wipe after you spray!
Adjust your wipe method
Out of force of habit, many people wipe one direction and go back over the surface in the other. We personally blame Karate Kid’s Mr. Miyagi for this. In reality, you should only swipe once in one direction to avoid redepositing germs.
