We can’t believe that we are already in the third quarter of the year! July brings so many good things in Chicago, from barbeques to outdoor festivals. For the Nice Guys, it means announcing a new candidate for our Recycle for a Reason program, and this quarter we’re proud to announce Haymarket Center as our recipient.
About Haymarket Center
Founded in 1975, Haymarket Center aids people with substance use disorders. The key differentiation to note about Haymarket in comparison to organizations is that it treats addiction as a disease. Instead of criminalizing, Haymarket Center’s goal is to provide help. They offer everything from case management and assessment programs to detox programs, recovery homes and self-help groups. A great way to familiarize yourself with further this organization is by attending its 12th Annual West Loop Family Festival, which takes places this July 26th and 27th.
When Collections Start
Of course, if you can’t make it out the festival, our Recycle for a Reason program can help you show your support. From July 1 – September 30, 2019, we will be collecting donations for Haymarket Center in the form of used toners, old electronics and flattened cardboard. Once our collection period ends, our partners will then recycle those items into cash, and all profits made will be donated to Haymarket Center. You can start donating whenever you like!
The Difference Made
While donating your recycling will benefit Haymarket Center, we also want you to remind you that it’s benefiting the world. On average, people tend to throw away items rather than recycling them. It’s part of our mission as a company to fix that. So, remember: By donating electronics, you’re powering homes. By keeping toners out the waste bins, you’re making refurbished and new business items. And by being conscious of your cardboard usage, you’re keeping our forests alive!
